“Sexually dimorphic chromosome structures impact sperm stress responses”

Unlike egg development, developing sperm are extremely sensitive to temperatures changes with heat exposure linked to male infertility. Through the identification of novel sexually dimorphic features in meiotic chromosome structures, I will establish that sperm fertility depends on dimorphic regulation of these chromosome structures to impact DNA repair mechanisms and thermotolerance.
