Using mouse models and massively parallel genomic assays to decipher gene regulatory variation

The advent of rapid genome editing technologies, coupled with high-throughput genomic assays, has revolutionized our ability to understand how genetic variation alters gene expression to influence human traits. I will discuss recent work in our laboratory that uses genetically modified mouse models, massively parallel reporter assays, and CRISPR screening technologies to discover and characterize gene regulatory mechanisms implicated in human evolution and disease.
